Pineapple Mojito

It is said that the original Mojito was a medicinal drink to curb disease on the island of Cuba. A moonshine rum-type alcohol was mixed with mint, lime, and sugar cane syrup to ward off illness. Here is a popular Mojito recipe that will help you celebrate National Rum Day. Depending on your mood, you could make this pineapple Mojito recipe with or without alcohol!

Ingredients:

3 pineapple chunks

1 TSP mint leaves

1 TBSP canna simple syrup

½ lime (juice reserved)

3 oz. club soda

1 oz. white rum (optional)

Directions:

Add the lime juice, pineapple, mint, and simple syrup to the cup. Mash with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to combine/release the flavors of the ingredients.
